Discussion

This was a layer of silty clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3), in the western segment of box section 012AA00254. It appeared to be cut by an enclosure ditch (unexcavated in this area, although it was almost certainly part of 012AB00822). The only finds were a Roman pot sherd and a cattle scapula.
